Course Content – Units
This course provides a comprehensive exploration of spiritual life, integrating knowledge, understanding, and practical methods for personal transformation. It covers the fundamentals of life and spirituality, spiritual paths and non-duality, holistic spiritual psychology, sexuality, and practical methodologies for inner growth. Each section combines theoretical insights with concrete practices, guiding students toward self-awareness, mastery of the mind and desires, and the awakening of consciousness.
Fundamentals of Life and Spirituality
The course provides knowledge about the fundamental aspects of life and spirituality, including the purpose of life, pleasure, suffering, happiness, bondage, freedom, self-realization, ignorance, knowledge, non-duality, yoga, spiritual life, and self-discipline.
It examines the nature of pleasure, pain, and bliss, the dynamics of ignorance and knowledge, and the paths to freedom and self-realization. By exploring the meaning of spirituality, non-duality, yoga, and Self-knowledge, it clarifies essential concepts for a deeper understanding of the spiritual journey.
Non-duality and Spiritual paths
Fundamental knowledge about Advaita Vedanta (Non-Duality), Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, and Karma Yoga, the main paths of Yoga and Spirituality. Jnana Yoga is the direct path to Self-realization, focusing on the recognition of the non-dual Self (Consciousness). Explore the fundamentals and the importance of other yoga paths within the journey of Jnana Yoga.
Holistic spiritual psychology
A Comprehensive Guide to Human Psychology and Consciousness
A holistic understanding of human psychology, encompassing both the higher and subtler aspects of our existence and our divine nature—our Essential Nature, Consciousness. Knowledge about the divine Self (Consciousness), experienced as a silent, still, and peaceful space. This includes practices to establish conscious contact with it and to distinguish it from all other layers of our existence, along with meditation, self-inquiry, and self-awareness practices related to this inner connection.
Knowledge about the three gunas (sattva, rajas, tamas), the five sheaths (koshas), the mind (the fourfold internal organ), ego, ignorance, desire, karma, bondage, and freedom. A detailed analysis of the nature, aspects, and functioning of the mind and ego, including the main expressions and defense mechanisms of the ego, the mechanism of desire, egoic tendencies, and negative emotions. The primary qualities that create the ego’s illusions and generate suffering—superimposition, identification, imagination, attachment, and association—are also examined.
Knowledge of vital energy (Prana), the three qualities (gunas) of life, and the three fundamental bioenergies (Doshas), and their relation to psychology, spiritual transformation, and growth.
This integrated approach provides a holistic psychological framework according to Yoga and Ayurveda, connecting the mind, ego, desire, consciousness, and subtle energies, offering both theoretical understanding and practical methods for self-awareness, inner transformation, and the realization of our divine Self.
Spirituality and Sexuality
This unit explores the sacred dimension of sexuality and its role in spiritual transformation. It teaches the transmutation of sexual energy to overcome compulsive patterns and guide practitioners toward inner mastery and spiritual awakening.
Students learn practices aiming to eliminate lust and conserve energy, while developing virtues such as willpower, patience, devotion, and self-discipline. The course gives a comprehensive methodology and means to eliminate lust and cultivate a pure, sattvic mind.
Spiritual Life and Practice
This section, together with Holistic Spiritual Psychology, is the most important part of the course, as the process of inner transformation, development, and awakening is grounded in practice supported by comprehensive knowledge and understanding of human existence.
Various methods and practices are offered for the development of sattvic qualities and abilities, the purification of vital energy, mind, and heart, the dissolution of egoistic tendencies, and the cultivation of Self-awareness.
Methodology and Practices
My method, called Advaita Atma Yoga, is an integral approach encompassing all aspects of human existence in the process of inner transformation and awakening of consciousness. It is grounded in the principles of Advaita Vedanta and the main paths of Yoga (Bhakti, Karma, Raja, and Jnana Yoga), presented in a way that is accessible and comprehensible for the modern practitioner.
