Essentials of True Spiritual Teaching

Any teaching that does not consider the purification of the vital energy and the inner instrument (mind, heart, intellect, and subconscious), along with the dissolution of egoic tendencies, passions, and patterns, as essential aspects of the inner journey toward self-realization and liberation, cannot be regarded as a true or authentic teaching.
The very fact that our essential nature, —pure consciousness—is inherently pure, luminous, free, and whole does not invalidate the necessity of purification and the elimination of egoic tendencies of all kinds (such as desires, defects, passions, and emotions).
Just as the sun cannot be reflected clearly in a dirty or uneven mirror, the light of consciousness cannot be expressed clearly through an impure, dense, extroverted and agitated mind.
A harmonious, luminous, and clear mind —diaphanous like pure water —is needed to reflect the light of consciousness without distortion and to fully express its inherent qualities such as peace, love, and wisdom.
A clear mind, through steady, firm, and deep abiding in the silent space of consciousness (which is true meditation), gradually acquires the luminosity of consciousness itself and becomes almost identical with it. When, in deep Nirvikalpa samadhi, the complete dissolution of the ego occurs, duality vanishes entirely, and the state of liberation —or full illumination— is realized.
Man has become God, and God has become Man. This is known as theosis in the Christian tradition. There is only Oneness, within and without.
