Identification and awakening

Identification with the body, that is, taking the body as ourselves, is not caused by the intellect, but by the lower rājaso-tāmasic ego. Ego is a field of psychic energy and not a mental structure. So, ego is the factor of identification, not the intellect.
At the same time, the impure intellect, deluded by this lower ego, fails to discern between the Self (Consciousness) and the non-self (body, mind, intellect, ego, personality). So, this identification remains firm and strengthens with the development of egoistic tendencies and attachment to forms.
However, through intense practice aiming at the purification and development of the sattva and sattvic capacities of the intellect, the intellect becomes highly intelligent — developing devotion, dispassion, clarity, concentration, and discernment.
With such an intellect, through knowledge from Vedanta and awakened beings, meditation, and inquiry, awakening occurs, and our true identity as Consciousness is realized — that is, the realization that Consciousness is what we are, our true identity.
Along with this, disidentification from the body, mind, intellect, and ego naturally happens.
Repeat God’s name constantly

The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
