Meditative state or simply meditation
by Atman Nityananda
Meditation is an inner state, not a practice; that is, the deep, effortless, and steady absorption of the mind in the silent inner presence of Being.
Therefore, the goal is to attain the meditative state, not merely to practice a meditation method.
This, of course, requires daily meditation practice, but also the purification of the mind and heart, as well as the elimination of imperfections (egoic tendencies, flaws, desires, etc.). These form the foundation for the mind to enter a sattvic state, allowing us to enter meditation—that is, deep, effortless absorption in inner silence—and to experience the peace and fullness of our Being.
When the mind becomes extremely pure sattvic and we develop the ability to enter and maintain the meditative state effortlessly, then, through continuous and deep meditation and samadhi, the complete dissolution of the ego and all its tendencies, desires, and imperfections will eventually take place.
This will lead to our establishment in the meditative state—that is, in our Divine nature.
The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
🌺 Peace, Love, Harmony
