Spirituality is a continuous effort to live consciously in every moment
by Atman Nityananda
Spiritual practice is a continuous, moment-to-moment effort to live consciously in every moment throughout the day.
This effort involves the following key aspects:
- Maintaining the mind and attention focused on the silent inner presence of Consciousness, which is content-free, always peaceful, complete, free, and blissful.
- Observing oneself and being aware of one’s psychological state (thoughts, emotions, egoic tendencies, etc.).
- Recognizing, as quickly as possible, the egoic tendencies that arise within us.
- Avoiding identification with these tendencies and, if necessary, applying a method to prevent or stop identification.
- Eliminating these tendencies through prayer, mantra, or other methods.
The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
🌺 Peace, Love, Harmony
