Desire thoughts and Emotions
by Atman Nityananda
Whatever opposes our will or our desire raises the anger within us!
Anger is in fact a modification of the desire itself.
As milk becomes yogurt under certain conditions, so desire becomes anger.
Greed is desiring more of what we desire. Greed is the desire to constantly acquire more of what we already seek, never feeling satisfied. It fuels a cycle of endless craving.
Desire associated with sexual pleasure becomes lasciviousness, while desire associated with food pleasure becomes gluttony.

Fear is the result of desire and attachment to something. Thinking of not getting what we desire or losing the object of fulfilled desire acts as a source of fear in the form of worries or anxiety.
THOUGHTS & DESIRE
Desire is the fuel; thought is the fire. The thought-fire is kept up by the desire-fuel.”
“If you withdraw the supply of fuel, the fire will be withdrawn into its womb. If you stop thinking by cutting off desires, the mind will be withdrawn into Brahman (Pure Consciousness).
from Swami Sivananda’s book “Mind—Its Mysteries and Control.”
The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
