Desire and Fear
by Atman Nityananda
Until we satisfy our desire, we experience anxiety, impatience, worry, fear, doubt, and so on. However, when we obtain what we longed for, our mind calms down for a while, and depending on the case, we experience more or less pleasure, enjoyment, satisfaction, and joy. We may also experience a deeper sense of fulfillment, peace, and completeness that stems from our divine nature (Consciousness).
Furthermore, because we desire others to have a good opinion of us, and because we crave recognition, acceptance, and validation in order to feel ‘good,’ worthy, and significant, we often feel insecure and worry (fear) about how others (friends, relatives, colleagues, etc.) will perceive our actions, words, and choices.
The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
🌺 Peace, Love, Harmony
