Ego & desire – God-realization

Get rid of ego, desire and attachment and realize God
Just as the cloud screens the sun, so also this cloud of ego (Ahankara) screens the Infinite Sun of Knowledge, Brahman. (Jnana Surya’).
You cannot realise God,
If you have the least tinge of egoism,
If you have the slightest attachment to name and form,
If you have the least trace of worldly desire in the mind.
The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
