The Illusion that Life lasts for ever

The illusion that we will never die (as bodies) is an illusion created by the apparent identification of Consciousness, which is immortal, with the body, which is mortal and will soon die.
Through this identification, we experience the illusory sense that immortality, which belongs to our divine nature (Being, Consciousness, Spirit), belongs to the body. This identification, like all others, is caused by the ego.
This illusion, created by our ego, makes us lose ourselves in worldly experiences, living attached to sensory experiences and pleasures, while neglecting our soul.
However, all illusions eventually come to an end, and in this case, death will dissolve the illusion that we will never die.
But by then, it will be too late to do any inner work to transform ourselves and consciously unite with our divine nature.
The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
