Remain in silence & listen to the silence
by Atman Nityananda / blog
Maintain external silence for two to three hours a day, and on certain days, such as Sunday, remain silent for the entire day.
Practicing silence helps us observe what is happening within us with clarity.
By keeping silent, we control impulsive speech, curb the mind’s extroversion, and conserve the energy wasted on unnecessary talking, judgments, and gossip.
All the energy spent on speaking can be redirected towards inner practice and meditation.
Observing silence strengthens willpower.
It helps us control the mind and senses.
Above all, it keeps us connected to the inner silence—the peace and fullness of the silence of Being (self-awareness).
As we maintain external silence, it is important to deepen our connection to inner silence (self-awareness) by using a mantra or another method.
Stay silent and listen to the silence within you. Immerse yourself in it, surrender to it. Silence is your home, your refuge, and your paradise.
The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
🌺 Peace, Love, Harmony
