Self-awareness from moment to moment – Spiritual practice
by Atman Nityananda / fcb
The core of spiritual practice is to be in self-awareness continuously. In a state of identification, you live unconsciously, like a robot reacting mechanically to external stimuli and events, repeating mental and emotional states mechanically through memory and imagination.
The best way to develop self-awareness is to strive to be in self-awareness more and more (in frequency and duration).
First of all, you need to know, learn, understand, and realize what self-awareness is.
Secondly, due to the habit of living in a state of identification, with the mind directed outward, and the lack of purity and harmony of the mind, it is difficult to remember to be in self-awareness and to remain in self-awareness for a significant amount of time.
However, since no serious work and progress in self-knowledge can be achieved without self-awareness, you must find ways to develop and deepen your self-awareness.
For the development of self-awareness, not only are the practices you can do two or three times a day in your space necessary, but also its practice throughout the entire day.
