Purification, Samadhi, Self-realization
Verses from the book Vivekachudamani

Through Nirvikalpa Samadhi, the Truth of Brahman is known clearly and definitively, and all desires are destroyed.

One who is attached to the Real eventually becomes one with the Real, due to their constant devotion.

Just as gold is purified by exposing it to the intense heat of fire, thereby regaining its natural shine once freed from all impurities; similarly, the mind, through meditation, sheds all impurities of Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas, thus reaching the reality of Brahman.

When the mind, purified in this manner through constant practice, merges into Brahman, then Samadhi transitions from the state of concentration to Nirvikalpa, leading directly to the realization of the Bliss of Brahma; the one without a second.

Through this Samadhi, all desires, which are like knots, are destroyed. All Karma is extinguished, and both within and without, in every direction, the spontaneous manifestation of our true nature is always recognized.

Reflection is considered a hundred times superior to merely hearing teachings, and, in turn, meditation is considered a hundred thousand times superior to reflection, but Nirvikalpa Samadhi is an infinite experience, therefore incomparable.

Through Nirvikalpa Samadhi, the Truth of Brahman is known clearly and definitively. That is the only possible way because otherwise, the mind, being so inherently unstable, will tend to mix the experience with other types of perceptions.

The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
