Pleasure derives from within

Pleasure is a field of energy in us that, when we experience a desired pleasant object or happening, starts to vibrate, creating this sense of pleasure.
This field of energy that causes pleasure is an intrinsic part of the lower emotional ego.
So, in reality, it is the ego itself that assumes the form of pleasure and experiences itself as pleasure when our mind encounters a pleasant sensory experience.
In the absence of the sensory experience, the ego can imagine and fantasize about the object or happening to manifest itself as pleasure and experience the pleasure.
Finally, the ego does the same in our dreams, where through imagination, it creates dream situations and expresses itself as pleasure to experience pleasures.
The most common dream-pleasures are sexual dreams. The ego freely imagines what it likes to experience itself as sexual pleasure.
The very fact that we experience pleasure through imaginary mental forms affirms that pleasure doesn’t come from external forms and sensory objects and happenings.
The ‘secret’ to a plentiful life, a life of harmony, happiness and contentment is to have a sattvic mind free from desires and ego and to live in every moment in conscious contact with our true Self (Consciousness).
