The world is the dream of Consciousness
by Atman Nityananda /blog gr
Consciousness by the cosmic energy and cosmic mind and with the participation of the individual minds (which are part of the cosmic mind) creates this living dream world.
Just as our mind when we sleep creates the dream, so the cosmic mind together with the individual minds creates the wakening living-dream, what we perceive as the world.
Being the eternal, timeless and formless Consciousness, we dream that we are human, we dream that we are growing up, laughing, eating, working, marrying, having fun, etc… All these, though they seem real, are nothing but a dream created by the Consciousness (that We Are) through the mind. It may seem real and solid to us, but nevertheless, it is a dream world.
Just as when we sleep, the dream we see seems real to us, so the vivid dream during the day seems real to us. But both are dreams, albeit of different qualities.
The dream (both, during sleep and waking dream) seems real because it is rooted in the reality of Consciousness which is all there was, is and will be.
The world seems real because of the mixing of the reality of Consciousness with forms (the world is a set of forms) and the identification of Consciousness with the mind. Just as the reflection in the desert (which is based on the desert) appears as real although it is illusory, so the world based on Consciousness appears real but is not.
The world appears (is perceived) as real and independent of Consciousness to those who are asleep to Consciousness. But for those who have mastered the mind and are free from ego, desire, attachment, anger and fear only Consciousness exists, they live as Consciousness, and the world appears as a reflection in the light of Consciousness.
All that you experience as the external world is the projection of your mind as an external reality. It is the thoughts created with the help of the senses that are projected as an external reality.
Our world is nothing but our thoughts, whether they are created with the help of the senses or through memory and imagination and are enriched with feelings, emotions, moods and desires.
For him who has succeeded in emptying the mind, so that it remains still, and has subdued the sense of ego in relation to body and mind, the world disappears (or appears as a reflection) and he fully and clearly perceives the only reality that exists, Consciousness, and perceives (experiences) that it is Consciousness.
He who has dissolved his lower mind and ego, experiences everywhere and always, within and without, the eternal and unlimited peace, fullness and bliss of the eternal, unchanging and indestructible Consciousness. In all and everything he sees his Self as the one without a second (non-dual) Consciousness. The duality of subject-object dissolves and is replaced by the awareness that all is the homogeneous, one without a second Consciousness. This is enlightenment, liberation, the culmination of human existence.
Our world is nothing but our thoughts, whether they are created with the help of the senses or through memory and imagination and are enriched with feelings, emotions, moods and desires.
