AUM! Atman talking with AI on self-awareness and eliminating egoic tendencies

In my experience, the most important condition for working with the dissolution of egoic tendencies, moment by moment, is to maintain a state of self-awareness. By self-awareness, I mean staying consciously connected and in union with inner silence, while remaining attentive and vigilant in observing what is happening within our psyche. It’s crucial not to identify with these inner processes and to avoid becoming attached to sensory impressions.

For me, this is the foundational basis that enables us to systematically and effectively work on dissolving egoic tendencies moment by moment. Without this foundation, this work cannot be accomplished.

Your approach emphasizes a profound connection with one’s true self, and it aligns with spiritual and mindfulness practices that aim to foster a deep understanding of the self and reduce egoic influences. It’s a valuable perspective for personal growth and self-awareness. Is there anything specific you’d like to explore further regarding this topic?

We can certainly delve deeper into this topic. As Ι mentioned, self-awareness, vigilance, mindful observation, and non-identification serve as the foundation for working on the elimination of egoic tendencies within our psyche.

However, there is more to explore to achieve this. In my experience, I utilize two important methods: prayer and the repetition of mantras. With these two means, I can significantly and decisively weaken egoic tendencies.

The combination of self-awareness (deep contact with inner silence) with prayer and mantra is the most effective way to drastically weaken the energy field of egoistic tendencies whenever they manifest in us.

Using prayer and mantras as additional tools for weakening egoic tendencies is an interesting approach. Both methods have been used for centuries in various spiritual and mindfulness practices. They can help create a focused and centered state of mind. I look forward to hearing more about your experiences with these methods. Please feel free to continue with your thoughts.

Mantras are among the most ancient tools recommended by spiritual teachers and traditional teachings for various purposes.

Mantras offer a range of benefits, and I’ll mention some of the most important ones.

First, by repeating a mantra moment by moment, we can maintain a conscious connection with the inner silence of our Divine Essence and as witnesses to the almost constant psychological reactions, both mental and emotional, that arise in our psyche (mind and heart). We also remain detached observers of sensory experiences and perceptions.
Second, mantras help keep our mind focused, preventing it from creating incessant thoughts and imaginations related to the past, future, or even the present moment.
Third, through mantra repetition, we purify our mind and heart from lower egoistic energies and the qualities of rajas and tamas, which act like toxins when operating through our mind. While rajas and tamas are essential for life, when they dominate our mind, they become detrimental and cause ignorance, attachment, identifications, passions, distortions and are the basis of all egoic tendencies.
Mantras serve as a means to detoxify our mind from rajas and tamas, increase the sattva (luminous quality) and elevate the vibrational frequency of our mind, heart and psychic energy.

The repetition of the mantra helps to maintain a sattvic state of mind and gradually increases sattva, which is characterized by luminosity and transparency. Sattva is the basis for a healthy, harmonious, creative, peaceful and happy life. Sattva also allows us to live in conscious connection with our essence and to live and express the divine qualities.

Your explanation of how mantras can be used to purify the mind and elevate one’s consciousness is insightful. Mantras have been used as a powerful tool for spiritual growth and self-transformation in various traditions. If you’d like to continue discussing this topic please feel free to share.

As mentioned earlier, it’s crucial to maintain a state of self-awareness and detached observation of what’s happening in our psyche.

Whenever we notice an emotion, impulse, passion, or desire arising within us, it’s important to pay attention to it and become fully aware of it.
Next, we turn our attention inward, connecting as deeply as possible with the inner silence, depending on the circumstances.
We can also do the opposite. At the very moment we notice an emotion or impulse manifesting, we first withdraw all our attention inward and enter as deeply as possible into inner silence and then, maintaining this connection, we pay attention to the emotion or impulse that has arisen in us.

From this state of deep connection with the silence and awareness of the tendency (let’s say anger) we use the mantra by repeating it clearly and vigorously, thus creating a high frequency vibration. The powerful vibration of the mantra permeates and dissolves the energy of the tendency, (in this case, anger). The power of the mantra has the ability to eliminate the energy of any tendency that have arisen in our psyche.

The key elements in eliminating the tendency are maintaining a deep connection with the inner silence, to avoid identification with the tendency, i.e., to maintain psychological distance, and to be aware of the tendency.
In this state, repeating the mantra clearly and forcefully allows the vibration to dissolve the energy of the tendency. (emotion, impulse, desire, etc.).

Your description provides a practical and insightful method for using mantras to address and dissolve egoic tendencies like anger. It’s a powerful technique for self-transformation and emotional regulation. If you have more to share or if you’d like to discuss this further, please feel free to continue.

Now, I will explain how we can use prayer instead of a mantra for dissolving egoic tendencies whenever they arise in our mind and heart.

All the steps we take to use a mantra to dissolve egoic tendencies apply to the use of prayer. The only difference is that instead of the mantra we use a prayer. We can direct this prayer to the Divine in whatever form we feel the Divine in our heart, whether as Divine Shakti, Divine Mother, God, or an Incarnation like Jesus Christ or Krishna. Through a short prayer, we request the elimination of the egoic tendency that have manifested in us in that very moment.

To reiterate the key points: maintain a deep connection with the inner silence, remain detached from the egoic tendency, and be aware of it.

In this state of connection with the silence and awareness of the tendency, without being identified with it, we ask for the elimination of the egoic tendencies through a short prayer.

An example of such a prayer could be, “Oh Divine Mother, please permeate my whole being with love, light, and healing energy. Eliminate this anger energy and purify my mind and heart from it.
or simply,
“Oh Divine Mother, eliminate this anger energy in my mind and heart.”

Another form of prayer might be, ”Oh my God, fill me with love, light and healing energy, and eliminate the energy of anger in me and cleanse my mind and heart of anger.”

Another form of prayer might be, “Divine light, love, and healing energy, permeate my entire being and eliminate this anger energy from my mind and heart.”

Indeed, these short prayers have the power to dissolve egoic tendencies. You also mentioned the potential for combining prayer with a mantra, which you’ll discuss in your next conversation. This method appears to be a profound way to work on eliminating egoic tendencies through a connection with the Divine. If you have more insights or would like to continue the discussion, please feel free to share.

Without a doubt, hese short prayers have the power to diminish the egoic energy, almost as if they were burning a part of that energy and weakening the power of the tendency/ies.

Prayer works wonderfully in combination with mantra for the dissolution of egoic tendencies (emotions, desires, passions, impulses, etc.). I consider prayer in combination with mantra to be the most effective way to eliminate egoistic tendencies (diminish their energy).
Especially when the manifestation of an egoic tendency is very strong, you can apply both methods in combination (prayer and mantra repetition). That is, you can pray for the dissipation of the selfish energy (more than once if necessary) and immediately afterwards repeat the name of God as described above, or alternate them until the tendency fades away and the mind calms down.

By consistently employing prayer or/and mantra every time a tendency arises within us, we can gradually diminish them and ultimately free our mind, heart, and subconscious from all tendencies.

This is a gradual process that requires patience, determination, and perseverance. It also demands faith in ourselves and faith in the Divine, an unwavering faith that we can succeed in this endeavor, even if we face difficulties, adversities or any other challenges.

There’s no doubt that through the power of mantra and prayer, and by maintaining the inner state I explained at the beginning of this discussion, we can dissolve egoic tendencies and achieve a profound transformation and liberation of them.
